Spring at Lake Chelan
It’s almost here! More daylight, warmer weather, trees and flowers blooming…(and one season closer to the best season of all). If you’re ready to say goodbye to winter and make a trip to the lake, here are a few ways to jump right into celebrating spring in Chelan:
Get Outside
Welcome spring on March 19 by taking in some fresh air! Bike to brunch. Go for an evening walk. Do a scavenger hunt with your kids to look for signs of spring in nature. Whatever way you embrace the day, snap a photo and tag #chelanlookout so we can feature your mini celebration.
In coming weeks, you’ll have plenty of outdoor options. All seven of the Chelan-area golf courses will open (4 are already open now!) Local hiking trails will be uncrowded but beautiful with lake views and wildflowers. The Lookout’s Hilltop pool will open for the season in late March, weather permitting, and the Vineyard District pool (open now for covered indoor swimming) will be uncovered in April. And if you’re really brave, you can test the waters at the beach cove!
Get Seasonal
Local crops are one of the best parts of living and playing in the Chelan Valley. Spring brings blooming apple trees and growing vines. In the wine world, three big events take place: Spring Release (April 18- 26) features just-released white and rose wines, and Spring Barrel Tasting (May 16 & 17) brings the unique experience of tasting straight from the source. In late May, the farmer’s market opens on Thursday evenings with the freshest local produce, homemade goods, and entertainment.

A dog parade. A fun run. An Easter egg hunt. Flag football games. Want more? An Earth Day fair. Another parade. A jazz festival. The list keeps going!
Spring activities in Chelan have something for everyone.
