The Lake Chelan Valley is widely-recognized for its premium wine, bringing tourists from all over the country to experience the taste and beauty of this unique area. There are now more than 25 wineries and tasting rooms along the south end of the lake from Chelan to Manson, and seasonal wine events celebrated every year. We love to help our guests plan their wine tasting adventures (and have blogs with tips, favorites, and itineraries!) But did you know you can also experience Chelan’s wine culture right here at The Lookout, without even getting in your car? Here’s how:
Explore our neighboring winery, Vin Du Lac.
Just a 5 minute walk down the hill from our vacation rental homes, you’ll find a charming winery and bistro tucked away in a garden setting. Since their first vintage in 2002, Vin Du Lac (French for “wine of the lake”) has been solidified in the Chelan wine scene with their commitment to quality and boutique wine-making techniques. This charming space offers wine tasting daily and a lunch and dinner menu that serves the best of local Chelan food (as well as delicious seafood!) with a focus on farm-to-table sustainability. The patio offers lake views with plenty of sun and shade, and it’s kid and dog-friendly! This summer, they’re also offering a fresh vegetable and berry farm stand, another family favorite activity.
(Note: though their live music series is currently on hiatus, we look forward to it coming back next summer and hearing the music drift up the hill!)

Offering this to our guests as they check in to their Lake Chelan vacation rentals is a special way to connect them to Chelan right away. We love seeing our guests uncork their Lookout Merlot or Chardonnay…on the deck of their vacation home with views of Lake Chelan, or with their meal as they cook at one of our outdoor kitchens, or at Vineyard park with a picnic basket for happy hour. On the northwest side of our property, as you drive up Bighorn Way hill up to our vacation homes, you’ll see our 4 acres of vineyards growing in the hot Chelan sun! Two years ago, the seedlings were planted and now we’re thrilled to have new canes sprouting with grapes. The Lookout is partnering with Amos Rome Vineyards, a local winery, to maintain our grapes, harvest, and bottle Merlot and Chardonnay wine in the future!
