How to Support Chelan Businesses Now

For many of us, Lake Chelan is our happy place. Social distancing from a favorite place (not to mention, people!) is difficult, and we know many of you feel disconnected during this stressful time. We can’t wait for the day we can welcome you all back. But in the meantime, we’ve rounded up some ways to stay connected to Chelan, and ideas for how to support local businesses. (If you have other ideas, please share with us on Facebook!)

Stay in touch with the day-to-day.

beach at chelan lookout beachFollow us on Instagram to see what’s happening around The Lookout and the lake. We’ll do our best to keep you updated, and remind you of all the good times that are to come! Follow Lake Chelan Now on Facebook for news and culture stories, the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page for business updates and amazing photos, and consider signing up for the newsletters of your favorite small businesses to get an insider peek (and perks!)

Read something other than the news.

Riverwalk Books downtown Chelan store may be closed, but you can order online and books will be shipped directly from their distributor. If you’re into audiobooks right now, check out libro.fm, which allows you to buy audiobooks through local bookstores as well.

Get your fruits and veggies.

Chelan Beauty is a subscription produce box that delivers organic, direct-from-the-farm fruit to your door. Take a bite of a Honeycrisp apple and you’ll be transported back to Lake Chelan! It’s a great way to shop small and get the freshest possible products. They also offer gift boxes–perhaps a thoughtful gift for healthcare workers or someone who needs a pick-me-up.

Unwind with a glass of vino or cider.

Rocky Pond Winery in ChelanIf your stock of Chelan Valley wine is running low, don’t worry! Many local wineries are now offering special deals on shipping throughout the state. Check out Rocky Pond Winery, Succession Wines, Tipsy Canyon, and Wine Girl Wines for more details.

Cairdeas Winery has a six-bottle “care package” that you can send to a friend (or yourself!), and $50 of every order will be donated to local nonprofits providing COVID-19 response support. The winery owners are also hosting a virtual wine tasting event on Facebook every Thursday at 4 pm, so you can tune in and they will take you through the experience of tasting each of the wines in this package.

Rootwood Cider is also running a special offer of free shipping and up to 20% off of 6 or 12 bottle orders through their online store. This family run business has a fun tasting room and farm experience, but until those are back open, get their delicious bubbles at home!

Get ready for getting back here.

Downtown ChelanConsider buying gift cards to your favorite Chelan restaurants, shops, or experiences (golf courses, boat rentals, etc). Many are taking orders over the phone or online. You’ll be ready for your next Lake Chelan vacation, which hopefully will be soon!

Please note: As the situation changes, businesses may be adjusting their policies. Check out a more comprehensive list at https://www.lakechelan.com/shopsmall/.
