Ways to Enjoy a Winter Wonderland at Your Chelan Vacation Rental Home
Chelan is known for four-season fun — including our magical winters! The combination of the beautiful lake, snow-capped mountains, and blue skies makes Lake Chelan a popular winter vacation destination. You’ve probably heard a lot about the best local snow sports, but what about the winter wonderland right outside your door?
When you stay at our Lake Chelan vacation rental homes, you’re in a special neighborhood in the middle of it all. From November through February, there’s a good chance there will be snow on the ground, which means you don’t even have to leave our hilltop to have a winter adventure. If you have kids, you’ll be thrilled to be able to send them outside for long days of playing. Here are few ideas for ways to enjoy the snow right here at The Lookout:
Sledding in Vineyard Park
The gently-sloping Vineyard Park is the ideal sledding location for kids of all ages! Protected by walking paths and rows of houses on both sides, it’s safe to run, play, and slide through this mile-long snowy field. It’s also perfect for snowball fights, and building snow-people!
Snowshoeing Trails
With several inches of snow, The Lookout neighborhood is a fun place to tromp around on snowshoes! You can try the mountain biking trail, the walk down to Vin du Lac Winery, the mile-long paved path into downtown Chelan, or the path down to the waterfront. Our favorite is the waterfront: take in the mountain views and calm lake, then get your exercise on the climb back up!
Winter Night Walks
Grab your jacket and a to-go mug of hot chocolate, and take a peaceful night walk around The Lookout! Our charming Chelan rental cottages will be lit up with porch lights. Wide lanes and sidewalks make it comfortable for everyone in the family to walk around, or maybe be pulled in a sled! Stop by our brand new park that overlooks the lake and downtown Chelan to see the sparkling lights of the little downtown.
