Best of February in Chelan

Best of February in Chelan

Love is in the (fresh) air! Whether you’re spending Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart, taking a mid-winter break with your family, or a long-weekend getaway with friends, be with those you love, doing things you love, in a place you love: Lake Chelan!

What is the forecast?

Just in time for the month of love, things start to heat up in February in Chelan, with the average temperature around 40 degrees. (Remember, we’re comparing to some 20-degree days in November and December!) It is wintery enough to bundle up at the outdoor firepit, and possibly enjoy a bit of snowfall on our hilltop. The mountains around the lake will still be white-capped and beautiful! (If you haven’t experienced the backcountry yet, be sure to check out our winter itinerary and details on Echo Ridge and Echo Valley, before the snow is gone!)

What is there to do?

Indulge! It was a long January, so treat yourself to a Lake Chelan vacation. Wind-down at your Lookout vacation rental, take relaxing walks to the waterfront, and warm up in the year-round pool and hot tub. Spend quality time with your Valentines, or give yourself the gift of spa time at Bellamia Massage, or a good stretch a yoga class at Yogachelan

For Valentine’s Day in Chelan, there are plenty of sweet date night ideas throughout the weekend. Ancestry Cellars is hosting a movie night at their tasting room (the always-charming Sleepless in Seattle), Siren Song Winery & Restaurant will have a Chef’s Special menu, and the romantic Sorrento’s Restaurant will have a special Valentine’s Dinner. Vin du Lac Winery has live jazz in their bistro on Saturday evenings, and Rio Vista Wines has a four-course wine, fudge, and Cougar Gold cheese tasting at their River and Cabin locations.

What events are happening?

It doesn’t get much better than pairing Red Wine and Chocolate – and our local wineries will do that for you with special tasting menus February 7-9 and 14-16. Just reading these will make your mouth water: Ancestry Cellars Reserve Cabernet with chocolate honey caramel truffles. Yeti Chocolates handmade artisan chocolates infused with C.R. Sandidge’s 2017 Caris red wine blend. Barrel Select wines and chocolate pairing at Fielding Hills Winery (all month long!) Chocolate fondue at The Cheese Shop at Lake Chelan Winery. Yum! Check out the full menu here.

Reserve your Lake Chelan vacation rental at The Lookout and enjoy this fun and flavorful February! (P.S. You may fall in love while you’re here – our neighborhood can be pretty charming!)
